An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 occurred near the Solomon Islands, for the night Saturday.

The U.S. Geological Survey, said the quake at a depth of 35km of Kira Kira. Officials in the capital Honiara say, 200 kilometers from the epicenter of the earthquake was, it sure as pretty, but there were no immediate reports of damage.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami warning.
