Verizon iphone Release Date IS Rumor....

Rumors have been swirling for some time about Apple launching an iPhone with Verizon. AT&T has been the sole U.S. carrier since the iPhone’s debut in 2007 and some iPhone users have complained about the quality of the AT&T network.

The Apple iPhone will not only be limited to AT&T customers. Now Apple is extending its coverage to Verizon. According to rumors, the Verizon iPhone release date is this summer of 2010, maybe after the iPad release, which is April 3. Broadpoint Amtech analyst Brian Marshall said it was “only a matter of time” before the iPhone landed with Verizon.

He said Verizon has a better network than AT&T and a larger base of customers. Marshall expects a Verizon iPhone to happen early in 2011. Verizon has roughly 6 million more wireless customers than AT&T.

“AT&T has known all along that its exclusive relationship with Apple would change into something else some day. From the beginning of its relationship with Apple, AT&T has factored this change into its business and technology planning,” a person familiar with AT&T said. Verizon shares rose to $31.50 from a close of $30.45, while AT&T shares slipped to $25.97 from a close of $26.51 Apple shares rose 2.3 percent to $237.65 in extended trading from a close of $232.39. Update: Yet another rumor has contended that the new device would be named the iPhone HD and would ship on June 22nd. The Engadget date is unusual as it might fall a week before WWDC if early scheduling remains accurate

WSLS has confirmed through a Roanoke Regional Airport spokeswoman that a small plane with two people onboard crashed into the UPS Freight building, near the airport this afternoon.

The Airport says the small private plane, a Piper PA46 was trying to land, had problems, and was in contact with the Control Tower. The aircraft had departed from Roanoke airport, reported trouble and tried to return to the airport. At that time the low flying plane clipped some power lines before crashing just shy of the UPS Freight building.

 The FAA is reporting there were two people in the plane, the passenger was injured but the pilot was not. One person was found about 100 feet from the wreckage when emergency crews arrived. Both have been transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital and one is reported to be in critical condition.

 According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the fixed wing single-engine plane is registered to Aviation Development Group Inc. of Charlottesville.

 Press Release from the Roanoke Regional Airport: Roanoke, Virginia – There has been an aircraft incident near the airport. Currently, aircraft rescue efforts are underway. 

At approximately 12:50 p.m., a Piper PA46 aircraft with two souls on board attempted to take off at the Roanoke Regional Airport. The pilot called the air traffic control tower for emergency assistance. The plane at that point appears to have hit the UPS freight facility on the North Side of Peters Creek Road.

Airport Fire and Rescue Team as well as Roanoke County and Roanoke City have responded to the incident. The airfield was shut down for ten minutes, but is currently open. There is no information at this time on injuries that may or may not have been sustained on the aircraft or at the facility. The Virginia State Police and Roanoke County will be conducting a briefing on the incident in 10 minutes at the corner of Peters Creek and Valley Pointe Road.

Pete Rose made the media rounds today, appearing on Howard Stern’s show. The banter was the usual — the endless Cooperstown snub, the all-time hits record, etc. But the one changeup Rose threw was taking along his girlfriend, who’s about to hit the newsstands in Playboy.

She’s 29-year-old Kiana Kim. (Pete is 68, and we’ll let you do the math.) Her self-description, from her website: Kiana was born in Seoul, Korea and moved out to the United States with her family when she was of the age 5. She was raised in Los Angeles and left LA to go to school at Arizona State University. She recieved her BS degree in Business Marketing. Soon after graduating, she worked for Korean Airlines as a flight attendant.

Dancing With the Stars 2010 will continue today with the vote of the audience. Yesterday, March 29, we got the chance to see Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani perform, getting a score of 15 points. Kate was in a red dress that looked fine, but she couldn’t deliver a strong performance. It seems she simply wasn’t made for dancing. Judge Bruno said Kate was “going through the motions like a Stepford wife.” At one point during rehearsals, Kate criticized her partner Tony: “I love how you teach, but you’re not taking into consideration how I learn.” Dolovani reacted by walking off set but eventually returned, and Gosselin thanked him. “I’ve had a lot of people quit on me in life,” she said.

Dancing with the Stars 2010 voting will be officially unveiled tonight, and Kate Gosselin Dancing with the Stars March 29 routine will be a hot topic, as the reality TV star tries to keep her dream of remaining on the show alive. She debuted to mixed reviews last week and had another occasionally bumpy path Monday night, as she and partner Tony Dovolani earned a combined score of 31.

Howard Stern Show can really make a next door girl a overnight sensation. Kiana Kim appeared today on The Howard Stern show and immediately became one of the most searched celebrity online. Kiana is a model from Seoul, Korea but mainly grew up in Los angeles. Kiana Kim studies at the Arizone state University and also worked as Air hostess/flight attendant at Korean Airlines. She appeared on Howard stern along with Pete Rose, her husband.

Just in time for Baseball season, Kiana Kim is the latest Howard Stern Playboy Bunny guest. But who’s Kiana Kim? She’s MLB legend Pete Rose’s girlfriend. Yep. Rose (the Major League Baseball all time leader with 4,256 hits, 3,562 games played, 14,053 at-bats, and 10,328 outs) personally escorted Kim to Howard Stern’s show, presumably to protect her from whatever crass statement Stern might issue.

Pete Rose, 68, has dated Kim, 29, since 2009. Wow, that’s a 49 year difference, or more years than this blogger’s age. Reportedly, Pete Rose talked about his banishment from Major League Baseball and being held out of the Baseball Hall of Fame because of his gambling issues. Two months ago, MLB Commissioner Bud Selig did not say if and when Pete Rose would be reinstated to baseball when Dan Patrick pressed him on the issue on Patrick’s show.

As for Kiana Kim, she’s one of Playboy’s Sexy 100 of 2009, but the wish in this corner is that Howard Stern would have Gabourey Sidibe from Precious on his show and say nice things about her.

Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package Release Time 2010

Today is March 30, which means that the Modern Warfare Stimulus Package Map will be made available for download today. As yet we are uncertain of the exact time that the MW2 Map Pack will be ready for Xbox 360 users – but should not be too long now.

For those who have not seen any stills or videos of the new map pack, then boy are you missing out, take a look and let us know what you think – only if you are not too busy already taking advantage of the new Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Map Package. Just to recap, the new map pack will come with 5 new maps, these include Bailout, Crash, Salvage, Storm and Overgrown – the cost will be $15 or 1200 Microsoft points. We mentioned above that the new MW2 Stimulus Map Pack will be available for the Xbox 360 – PC and Sony PS3 owners will have to wait an extra couple of weeks, that’s according to World Buzz Now.

The initial portrait emerging of the man charged with threatening to kill Eric Cantor and his family suggests he’s made similar, if not criminally actionable, threats on dozens of occasions against an ideologically diverse array of public figures. According to the federal complaint against him, Norman Leboon of Philadelphia has admitted making some 2,000 videos that contained threats. A sampling of his “work” reveals rambling incoherent videos that mix pseudo-religious incantations with random warnings and threats. In one video he addresses President Obama, Vice President Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid by name and says, “Your punishment is coming, the swine, it will be severe, and you will beg for mercy to your god, it will be severe, you will know god’s swine, god has warned you.” (Some conservatives are already chortling over the fact that Leboon contributed to Obama’s 2008 campaign, though it’s not clear what that’s supposed to signify.) Any connection between Leboon and the randomly fired bullet found in Cantor’s campaign office in Virginia last week? The feds are making no such connection. Assuming Richmond police are right that the bullet was random, could Leboon have made his video after that incident in Virginia became public? That appears unlikely: Leboon told authorities on Saturday that he made the Cantor video “approximately three days” before. Cantor’s press conference announcing the bullet in his office was on Thursday.

The result: rave reviews. Seattle Coach Pete Carroll, who was at Oklahoma for the workout, tweeted that Bradford “lit it up.” Gil Brandt, the former Cowboys personnel executive who now analyzes the draft for NFL.com, said it was the best quarterback workout he has seen since Troy Aikman worked out for the Cowboys before they drafted him – in 1989. It almost left him speechless, Brandt wrote in his blog for NFL.com.

 “The guy was fantastic,” Brandt said in a telephone interview. “The thing that is a little surprising is he had the velocity on the ball he did. He’s only been throwing the ball for four weeks. I would imagine it’s like baseball pitchers, you build up your arm strength. The guy threw every route. He did not throw one bad pass. It’s a very catchable ball, he moves around well, he carries himself well. I think he’s got a very, very bright future ahead of him.”

 In other words, Bradford and his shoulder did nothing that would dissuade a team from taking him first overall. With representatives of all 32 teams in attendance – including the Redskins’ general manager Bruce Allen and Rams Coach Steve Spagnuolo, who was caught on camera talking to Bradford immediately after the workout ended – Bradford threw, by some estimates, about 100 passes to all parts of the field. He threw from a simulated shotgun and he threw on the run and he seemed particularly at ease with deep passes. He showed no sign of discomfort – he said at the scouting combine that he has had no pain – and his arm seemed strong.

 One thing that was clear even on the one-camera video: Bradford is noticeably broader than he was in college. A natural athlete who played golf and basketball when he was younger, Bradford might not have participated in a rigorous weight-training program until now, Brandt said. The big concern about Bradford has been whether he is brittle -– the two hits that damaged his shoulder last season were not big ones by N.F.L. standards -– and Bradford has said that getting stronger was a priority, because many scouts thought he was too scrawny to hold up in the N.F.L. He has put on about 12 pounds since the end of the college season. Bradford has been working with Terry Shea, the former Rutgers and pro coach. With Bradford fully cleared by doctors, he now has about three weeks to get even stronger for what might be the biggest day of his career so far: a private workout for the Rams just three days before the draft. Assuming that workout does nothing to damage Bradford’s stock, the Rams will be faced with a huge decision: take the best quarterback in the draft, take one of the two defensive tackles, Gerald McCoy or Ndamukong Suh or trade the pick for a boatload of other picks. But after passing on Matt Ryan two years ago and Mark Sanchez last year, the Rams seem almost certain to select Bradford, leaving the Lions to pick one of the defensive lineman to go with newly-signed Kyle Vanden Bosch for an immediate upgrade of one of the N.F.L.’s worst defenses. “You hate to finish last,” Brandt said of the Rams. “In this case, it’s worth finishing last.”
