One of the best cricketers of Pakistan, Wasim Akram who has also served as the Captain of Pakistani Cricket Team. There are many rumors about Huma’s disease, but it is certain that as a result of some infection she went on to develop sepsis. As the disease started progressing the family hired a chartered air ambulance to transport her to Singapore. She was to be treated at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.
While she was being transported to Singapore her condition worsened and she was rushed to Apollo hospital in Chennai, as the ambulance was stopping by Chennai air port for fuel.
While in Chennai it was revealed that she had three brain tumors. Yesterday it was reported that her condition is stable but doctors remained concerned about her failed kidneys. As the condition progressed, multi organ failure ensued. She was in Intensive Care Unit at Chennai’s Apollo Hospital. She died this morning.
Huma is said to be the motivating force behind Wasim’s brilliant career. She herself was a psychologist and Hypnotist and did not want to be treated in Pakistan.
The couple have two sons Taimour and Akbar. Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ijaz Butt has expressed his deep condolences over the death Huma Akram.
As the story is being updated Huma Wasim Akram’s body is being transported from Chennai to Lahore, Pakistan. Her burial arrangements have been made and her body is expected to be buried earlier tomorrow.
